About Lethbridge Weather
Come for the forecast. Leave with something unexpected.
Why this site exists
Lethbridge weather is different. We sit on the lee side of the Rockies, where the mountains give way to open prairie. That brings chinooks that turn winter into spring in an afternoon, wind that shapes everything from how you drive to how you pitch a tent, and storms that build fast over the coulees.
Lethbridge Weather is about living well with that weather: understanding it, planning around it and being ready for it. Every visit should leave you knowing something you didn’t know when you arrived.
Who’s behind it
The site is run by Gary Wheeler, VE6CV, a Lethbridge weather watcher and ham radio operator. Gary has run his own weather station on the west side of the city since 2007 and the Whoop-Up Drive camera since 2012. Over the years he has learned a lot about southern Alberta weather, camping, RV living and being prepared, and this site is his way of sharing it.
Current conditions on this site come from Gary’s West Lethbridge Weather station, a Davis Vantage Pro 2 with its wind sensor at the standard 10-metre height, not from a distant airport.

A friendly note
Nothing on this site is official. It’s here for learning, information and a bit of fun, and it may contain the odd error. For official forecasts and warnings, use Environment Canada and the WeatherCAN app, and in an emergency call 911.
